^Lot 377 3pc Japanese Ceramic Cat Figurines

Mid-century Japanese export trio of cat figurines in glazed ceramic. The set comprises one tall, elongated feline and two smaller kittens in playful crouching poses. The tall cat features a white ground decorated with hand-painted yellow diagonal bands and pink floral motifs with green leaves. The two kittens are finished with grey and black markings to simulate fur texture, accented with red collars and pink inner ears. The kittens are configured as salt and pepper shakers, each retaining a small circular brown cork stopper to the underside. The tall cat base is marked with the digits 19 in purple ink. One retains a gold foil label printed with JAPAN.
